Conservation of The Historical Building in Kuala Lumpur

KUALA LUMPUR – The National Museum is working more towards the historical value of the buildings. The National Museum only considers conservation for the building aged more than 100 years. Even though they have listed numbers of buildings which are going to be conserved but the older buildings will be given the emphasise.

Whereas the dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) considers conservation as one of the townscape activities. Age does not matter, the most important thing is the buildings must be in beatiful condition. The emphasise is more towards the architecture value.

Meanwhile the Malaysian Heritage Trust is working towards heritage value. They are concentrating on buildings which contain the heritage value and are being threatened dangerously for example to be demolished or have been left and deteriorated.

Each organization being determined by carrying out their conservation activities using their own ways. This was found out to be due to the different approaches the adopted and the different understanding between them. So the DBKL and The National Museum come out with few guidelines that can help people to understand more about the conservations.
